Japan continues to lead WBSC Women’s Baseball World Ranking
Japan continue to lead the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Ranking with 1,310 points, retaining a clear advantage at the top of the standings. Their position at No. 1 remains unchanged in the latest update, following a ranking cycle influenced by results across recent continental women’s baseball tournaments in the Africa, Americas, Asia and Europe.

Earlier this month, South Africa swept a series against Zimbabwe in Harare to claim the Women's Baseball African Championship while Venezuela defeated Mexico to win the Women's Baseball Pan American Championship in September with Cuba beating Nicaragua to finish third.
ln Asia, Japan beat Chinese Taipei in the BFA Asia Cup final in November, while Hong Kong, China defeated Korea in the bronze-medal game. Meanwhile, Great Britain became the first team to qualify for the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage 2026 when they won the European Championship in August.
In the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Ranking, the composition of the top five remains unchanged with USA holding onto second place on 918 points, with Canada in third with 755 points. Mexico sit fourth on 746 points, narrowly behind Canada, with Venezuela completing the top five on 710 points.
The most notable movement near the top of the standings comes from Australia, with the Emeralds entering the world’s top 10 for the first time, after South Korea, India and Indonesia all saw their points tally drop. See World Ranking methodology here + Appendix
Further down the ranking, several nations recorded significant upward movement. Great Britain produced the largest climb in the latest update, rising 13 places to reach 15th. Czechia also moved up four positions to sit 18th, continuing a steady rise in the standings.
Additional gains were recorded by Cuba, who climbed two places, and Nicaragua, who moved up three positions.
