Gold from Sabarimala temple's sanctum and ornamental structures was allegedly siphoned off during 2019 repairs. A Special Investigation Team told a vigilance court that senior temple officials and private jewellers were involved. Gold-plated copper components were removed and taken to Chennai for extraction.
