Incredibly, Fernandes was also the only player across the top five leagues in Europe to create more than 100 chances during the 2025 calendar year.
The Portuguese magnifico played 655 final third passes, comfortably clear of Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes who managed 589.
Martinez Odegaard, Declan Rice and Enzo Fernandez rounded out the top five, but none came close to matching Fernandes’ output.
He created 103 chances, more than Mohamed Salah (86) and Enzo Fernandez (73).

Fernandes finished the year with 19 successful through-balls, a figure that dwarfed Odegaard’s 12, the next best in the league.
