The Calgary Snow Rodeo Starts Today. Here’s My Flyp Fantasy Team

The Snow Rodeo in Calgary is back this weekend at the Winsport Calgary Olympic Park. There’s a little more weight on this stop, as it’s an Olympic qualifier.
Snowboarder has teamed up with FLYP Fantasy to bring readers a fantasy league just for them. FLYP Fantasy Manager is the first multi-discipline fantasy platform for skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, surfing, wakeboarding, and mountain biking.
Each week, players are allotted a budget of 350 points that they use to add players to their lineup. Those projected to score well, like Taiga Hasegawa or Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, will cost more from your budget. Newcomers and athletes competing in events that aren’t their strong suit, like Chunyu Ge or Nicolas Huber, will cost less from your budget.

Women
Emily Arthur
There’s a little bit of recency bias here, as I met Emily at Copper Mountain shortly before the holidays. The Aussie is a bit of a dark horse, but with much of the usual suspects withdrawn from this contest, it’s ripe for a surprise podium appearance.
Brook D’hondt
Brooke is playing a home game. She was born in Calgary and did a year of high school at the National Sport School.
Shaotong Wu
The 27-year-old will be doing everything she can to qualify for the Olympics in Italy.
Isabelle Loetscher
This Swiss rider finished sixth at Copper’s qualifiyers, and fifth at China’s Secret Garden. She’s due for a breakout contest.
Nayoon Lee
A good budget pick.

Louie Vito
He’s making a big push to ride for Team Italy in the Olympics again, and he’s finally recovering from a back injury. Besides, how can you not root for this top dog-turned underdog?

The 2022 bronze medalist is a bargain pick right now. It’d be silly to pass him up.
Patrick Burgener
Pat won bronze at the 2020 Snow Rodeo. Let’s see if he can channel that same energy six years later.
