Alex Vesia's Wife Shares Emotional Update Following Daughter's Death
The wife of Dodgers star Alex Vesia has taken to social media to share an emotional update following the shocking death of the couple's daughter.
Kayla Vesia was "checking in" with her more than 225,000 followers with an emotional two-and-a-half-minute video she posted Friday on TikTok. Kayla said she and the Dodgers reliever are "just trying to get through it every day."
She added that "every day is so different for us right now, and I don't really have the words."
Kayla went on to thank everyone for the outpouring of support, after the couple, back in November, tragically shared that their daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, died just days after she was born.
"It just felt right to come [on social media] and say thank you," she added. "I am really grateful for the community of you guys and just expressing your support and love towards us."
It was an excruciating update, one that included Kayla sharing what she had prepared in the days leading up to her giving birth, and the tragedy that followed just days later.
"I was prepared for everything," she said. "I was prepared for whatever was going to happen. But I wasn't prepared for not taking my baby home."

The Dodgers announced on October 23 that the reliever would miss the World Series in the wake of the then-unannounced tragedy. The Dodgers would go on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series in seven games to win their second straight title.
The team remained quiet on the details of the “personal matter,” but the Dodger bullpen, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays bullpen, honored Vesia throughout the series, inscribing his jersey number, 51, on their caps.

Three days after the Dodgers' announcement, the couple shared the heartbreaking update to the world.
“Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday, October 26,” the couple shared in a November 7 Instagram post. “There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”
Alex, who just days ago shared an Instagram Story showing him back in the gym, will rejoin the Dodgers after the team picked up his $3.55 million option.
