Van driver dies after crashing into parked car
A 47-year-old man has died after a van crashed into a parked car in Fife, Scotland.
The collision involved a Mercedes Sprinter van and a parked and unattended Skoda Fabia on an unclassified road near Stonywynd, Boarhills on Thursday at 5.55pm, police said.
Emergency services were called to the collision however the driver of the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed and was then reopened at around 10.25pm.
Police have urged anyone with information about the Mercedes Sprinter to get in touch, adding that they want to speak with two men who helped the driver.

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: ‘We are in the process of establishing the full circumstances and I would ask anyone who may have seen the Mercedes van before the crash, and is yet to speak to police, to contact us.
‘I am particularly keen to speak to two men who went to help the driver.
‘I would also ask any drivers in the area at the time to check their dash-cam footage as it could assist us in our investigation.’
It comes after a two-year-old boy died and five people were seriously injured in a crash on a major A-road just days before Christmas.
Their car, a Toyota Auris, broke down on the A1 in Cambridgeshire at 6.20pm on Saturday, December 20.
It was sitting in a lane on the northbound carriageway and was hit by a Volkswagen Touran near Stibbington Junction.
The boy, from London, was killed in the crash while five other people who were in the Toyota were rushed to Peterborough City Hospital.
The Volkswagen driver, a 64-year-old man from Peterborough, escaped with minor injuries.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
