Thora Birch's Husband Releases Statement After Their Altercation with an Autograph Seeker at Award Season Event
Thora Birch‘s husband is speaking out after the couple got into an altercation with an autograph seeker outside an award season event this past weekend.
The Hocus Pocus actress and her husband, Michael Benton Adler, were exiting the BAFTA Tea Party in Beverly Hills on Saturday when they were approached by an autograph seeker.
TMZ has shared a video of the altercation, in which Michael claimed that the “man had been bothering Thora all weekend.”

At one point Michael allegedly grabbed the photos from the autograph seeker and ripped them up. Thora yelled to the man, “I’ll f–king knock you out,” while being held back by her husband. Eventually, she signed the photos.
“For all you people out there, don’t listen to this stuff. These people are wrong. They’re bad people. All we were trying to do is walk out,” Michael said to the person recording video of the incident.
Now, Michael has released a statement.
“Thora Birch and I wanted to address the incident Saturday. We are deeply regretful for its escalation. As we left an event, my wife, Thora, was accosted by a professional autograph seeker who followed us to our car from a private area. Thora was trying to deescalate the situation. She is Jewish and has close family in Israel and was simply trying to place an accent. Again, we deeply apologize for this being misunderstood,” he told TMZ.
