How to Watch the 'Resident Evil Requiem' Gameplay Showcase
The Resident Evil Requiem gameplay showcase finally has a specific date and time, after being confirmed as a January event back at The Game Awards 2025 in December.
The event will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, as confirmed in a brief announcement teaser trailer post from the official Resident Evil YouTube account. Additionally, the trailer shows a peek at some new and returning gameplay elements.
When aiming down sights in first-person mode, there is now a target reticle in the middle of the screen, and the camera is positioned directly behind the barrel of guns, unlike the combat of Resident Evil 7 and Village, which just zoomed in with the gun still positioned off-center.
The trailer also confirmed the return of one of the most significant additions to the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4: parrying. Once again (at least for Leon), players will be able to parry knives and other melee weapons, even the chainsaw.
Fans can tune in to the show's livestream on the official Resident Evil YouTube channel or watch the show on Capcom's official Twitch page. The description for the showcase says, "...be one of the first to see brand new gameplay and news for Resident Evil Requiem."
Other than that, and par for the course with Capcom's marketing for this game entirely, almost nothing else was revealed about the showcase, not even the length of it. Requiem might just be the most secretive game Capcom has developed yet. Part of that cage-y marketing might have had to do with the inclusion of fan-favorite Leon S. Kennedy as a second protagonist. With the game releasing next month, this showcase may mark the beginning of a marketing blitz.
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
