The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has not mandated source code sharing for IT hardware manufacturers, according to industry body MAIT. A recent government memorandum clarifies this, superseding earlier interpretations and safeguarding intellectual property. MeitY is currently consulting with stakeholders on mobile safety and security requirements.
