Michael Rapaport Slammed for Attacking Colton Underwood at 'Traitors' Roundtable, Comments Perceived as Homophobic
Michael Rapaport is being slammed by both his The Traitors castmates and by viewers after he attacked fellow player Colton Underwood at the roundtable.
The 55-year-old podcast host and comedian is facing backlash for the comments he made about Colton while accusing him of being a Traitor.
Earlier in the episode, contestants openly discussed Colton‘s history as a former The Bachelor lead who eventually came out as gay.
Michael seemed to dig into this topic while coming after Colton during the roundtable ahead of the night’s banishment.

“Conniving, commiserating Colton. Nobody in this room would be better at holding a secret than you,” Michael said to him.
Colton replied, “There it is. You think it was fun for 29 years of my life?”
Fellow gay player Johnny Weir defended Colton and said, “You can’t blame somebody being forced into a closet for the majority of their life.”
After more contestants defended Colton, Michael claimed he wasn’t talking about sexuality. He added, “I’m not talking about closets! His behavior is of a Traitor. His behavior is secretive, it’s conniving, it’s chirping, it’s commiserating, it’s cowardly.”
SPOILER: In the end, Michael was voted out of the castle. The cast wasn’t even convinced that he was a traitor. They just didn’t want him there anymore.
As Colton said in his confessional, “I’m typically pretty good at separating game and not playing super emotional, but Michael is now at the point where it’s become offensive to a few of us. And that doesn’t keep you around very long. This might be the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Michael apologized for his words in his goodbye confessional.
“It sucks, but I felt backed into a corner, and I tried to fight my way out of it,” he said. “Maybe I fought too hard. I meant what I meant within the context of the game. It had nothing to do with his sexuality. I really, sincerely apologize if I offended Colton or anybody in the house. That absolutely wasn’t the intention. I’m a fan of the game, I played hard. I played a good game, except for when it went a little too far, which sucks.”
