NASFAM honours Rosa Fatch Mbilizi for being first female Agriculture Minister
The National Smallholder Farmers Association of Malawi (NASFAM) has honoured Rosa Fatch Mbilizi for being the first female Minister of Agriculture in the country’s history.
NASFAM is holding its 28th Annual General Meeting in Lilongwe, where a trophy and a portrait have been presented.
NASFAM Chief Executive Officer Betty Chinyamunyamu says Mbilizi’s appointment is an opportunity for women farmers to have their affairs advanced and improved.
In her speech, Minister Mbilizi told the gathering, especially women farmers, not to believe assertions that women pull each other down.
Her sentiments were in reference to gestures by Betty Chinyamunyamu and other women leaders of various organisations who presented her with the trophy and the gift.
