A 19-year-old student died after consuming borax, known as 'venkaaram', bought from a local shop. She followed advice from a social media video promising quick weight loss. The substance caused severe vomiting and diarrhoea. Doctors declared her dead on arrival at the hospital. Police are investigating the social media video and the shop's role.
