The NBA's Rivalry Week caps off with a Los Angeles vs. Dallas showdown. We've compiled everything you need to know about how to watch Lakers vs. Mavericks, including live streaming options for those without cable.
Just under a year since the bombshell Luka Doncic trade that sent the Mavericks' star point guard from Dallas to Los Angeles (and sent Anthony Davis from LA to Dallas), the Mavs and Lakers meet again. The teams last faced off during an NBA Cup game in November, when the Lakers won 129-119 on their home court. The Lakers (26-17), led by Doncic and LeBron James, have been playing better than the Mavericks (19-26) so far. While the Mavericks have been boosted by No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg, they've struggled without Kyrie Irving, who has been out so far this season after tearing his ACL in March 2025.
Whether you're rooting for the Lakers or Mavs, we've got you covered when it comes to tuning in. If you're hoping to catch other basketball games this season, make sure to check out our how to watch NBA games streaming guide.

Cord-cutters don't need to worry about missing out on any of the action. There are a variety of live streaming services that can help them watch the game (and other sports content), including ESPN Unlimited, DirecTV, Fubo, and Sling TV.
All games that air on ABC are available to live stream via ESPN Unlimited, which also unlocks live streams across a variety of ESPN-related networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, the ACC Network, and the SEC Network, among others. Subscriptions start at $30 a month.
Fans can also live stream the game through DirecTV, the top cable alternative in our guide to the best live TV streaming services. DirecTV's MySports genre pack, which costs $70 a month, carries ABC and around 20 other live channels in its lineup. It also unlocks access to ESPN Unlimited. Additionally, DirecTV's MyNews genre pack offers ABC and around 10 other channels for just $40 a month. Just keep in mind that local channel coverage can vary by region in genre packs, so it's a good idea to look up what's available in your ZIP code before subscribing. All plans come with a five-day free trial for new customers.
Fubo is another stellar live TV streaming service we've tested. The cheapest plan that is ABC compatible is the new Fubo Sports + News pack, which costs $56 a month. It includes around 29 channels and unlocks access ESPN Unlimited. New users can get $10 off their first month after a five-day free trial.
Sling TV also carries ABC, although local channel availability varies from region to region, so it's a good idea to check what's available in your market. If ABC is available in your area, you'll want to opt for Sling Select (around 10 channels) or Sling Blue (40+ channels). Select starts at $20 a month, but plans that include local channels cost a bit more. Sling Blue starts at $46 a month, local channel coverage tends to hike the price up a bit more. How to watch Laker vs. Mavericks from anywhere
If you're traveling away from home, you can still keep up with your usual streaming services with the help of a VPN. Short for virtual private networks, VPNs are handy tech tools that let people change the virtual locations on their electronic devices. That way, their favorite websites and apps work from anywhere in the world. VPNs are also strong ways to upgrade online privacy and security. Since the services we've highlighted today require US payment methods, this option will work best for Americans who are simply traveling abroad right now.
NordVPN is our go-to recommendation. It's fast and easy-to-use option with a stellar reputation, massive selection of servers, and 30-day money-back guarantee if you find that it's not what you're looking for. You can learn more in our NordVPN review.
Note: VPN use is illegal in certain countries, and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content may constitute a breach of the terms of use for some services. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
