Beloved Ice Cream Brand Announces Launch of High-Protein Ice Cream Line
Watch out, another food brand has joined the ever-growing ranks of high-protein foods! This week, Blue Bell, the 119-year-old Texas ice cream brand, announced the launch of Blue Bell PRO. These high-protein pints, which haven’t hit stores yet, promise an indulgent dessert experience without completely wrecking your macros. Each pint contains just over 30 grams of protein, carving out its own space in the market.
On social media, Blue Bell shared a promo photo teasing the five flavors they'll be available in: chocolate, coffee, salted caramel, strawberry, and vanilla.

The nutrition profile is solid for anyone on a diet or looking to squeeze in extra protein in the form of a sweet treat. Along with the high protein aspect, Blue Bell PRO contains zero grams of added sugar, is low-fat and gluten-free, and no flavor exceeds 340 calories per pint.
Now, ponder how good that is for just a second. We’ve all been guilty of gorging on a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, just to check the nutrition label after the fact and find a calorie, fat, and sugar count that feels borderline disrespectful.
With health officials increasingly emphasizing protein in updated U.S. dietary guidelines, along with consumers clearly feeding into the message, it's a fitting launch. Plus, there are already tons of protein ice cream brands in grocery store freezers, like Yasso Bars, Protein Pints, and Nick's.
The global high-protein food market is projected to grow from $56 billion to over $108 billion by 2034, and surveys consistently show people actively trying to up their protein intake.
All of that results in a perfect storm for more products like this. But honestly, if there’s one protein snack we’re genuinely excited about right now, it’s definitely ice cream. We’ll report back with a full taste test once Blue Bell PRO officially hits store shelves.
