François Picard is pleased to welcome Shahin Modarres, Iran Team lead at ITSS Verona and Lecturer at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Mr. Modarres argues that the EU's designation of Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization is long overdue. Framing the IRGC as both a domestic instrument of repression and a transnational actor in terrorism, Mr. Modarres criticises years of European inaction, warns of potential migrant crises across the EU, and calls for accountability for Western complicity.
