At least eight dead after coach tumbles down roadside slope in Turkey
At least eight people have died after a coach overturned and crashed 50ft down a ravine in Turkey.
Passengers were said to have been thrown out of the bus as it plummeted down the slope in the southern coastal city of Antalya.
The driver reportedly lost control of the steering wheel as the coach approached a multi-level intersection in heavy fog and slippery conditions.
As many as 26 people have been injured in the crash, with a number believed to be in a critical condition.
Emergency workers and rescue teams are on site at the wreckage, where the coach slammed through roadside barriers.
Provincial Gov. Hulusi Sahin said: ‘The ground was wet and there was also fog in the area. It’s not a place to speed, but it seems the bus was speeding.’
The bus, operated by Buzlu, had been travelling overnight from Tekirdag in Turkey’s northwest and was heading to Antalya.
