A group of Palestinian patients treated in Egypt have arrived on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing, hoping to return to Gaza with their families. Tuesday's movement came after the long-awaited reopening of crossing the previous day that was marred by delays. Meanwhile, hospitals in Gaza reported that Israeli forces killed a 19-year-old Palestinian in the southern city of Khan Younis. Palestinians on both sides of the border hoped the second day of operations would run more smoothly. Only a dozen returnees and a small group of medical evacuees crossed in each direction on Monday, far short of what officials had promised.
