A Danish court has convicted two Swedes of terrorism and attempted murder for detonating hand grenades near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. The Copenhagen City Court sentenced the younger man, aged 18, to 12 years in prison, and the older, aged 21, to 14 years. They were said to be acting on behalf of a criminal gang. The grenades exploded on a residential terrace. No one was injured. The men admitted to the act but denied ideological motives. They plan to appeal the verdicts, which include deportation. Sweden has faced gang violence, with criminal gangs often recruiting teenagers for such acts.
