Ink tile collection by Ceramiche Refin
Dezeen Showroom: Italian company Ceramiche Refin was guided by hand-drawn gestures and meditative thought when creating Ink, its latest ceramic tile collection.
The Ink collection is made up of slab tiles printed with a tightly scribbled pattern of hand-drawn lines that build to an abstract composition reminiscent of ribbed, woven textiles.
The graphic was composed through stream-of-consciousness ink drawing and reflects a sense of unconscious and uninterrupted flow, bringing both harmony and dynamism into interiors.
From a distance the tiles look like they feature a fluid movement of lines, as if raked in the sand, but close-up viewing is rewarded as the rich detailing making up each contour becomes apparent.
"Ink represents Refin's ability to look at ceramics from a new perspective each and every time, in order to tell a story made up of research, reflection and balance," said Ceramiche Refin.
The Ink collection is available in an 80-by-80-centimetre format and comes in a choice of eight colours, ranging from neutrals to a soft green and blue.
