Epstein files reveal nine-year-old victim and include ‘top foreign government official’
Two Congressmen who viewed the unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files have revealed six more men are ‘incriminated’ after seeing the bombshell documents.
Republican Thomas Massie and Democrat Ro Khanna, who have fought for the Epstein files’ release for more than a year, said one individual was ‘pretty high up in a foreign government’.
It’s the first time government officials have been able to see the unredacted information.
Democrat Jamie Raskin said: ‘You read through these files, and you read about 15-year-old girls, 14-year-old girls, 10-year-old girls. I saw a mention of a 9-year-old girl today.
‘I mean, this is just preposterous and scandalous.’
Massie said one person involved was a ‘well-known, retired CEO’, adding: ‘DOJ should unredact this. Why did they redact it?’
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche defended the file’s redactions, however, touting: ‘The document you cite has numerous victim names.
‘We have just unredacted Les Wexner’s name from this document, but his name already appears in the files thousands of times. DOJ is hiding nothing.’
Les Wexner is the business giant behind L Brands, which once ran retailers including Victoria’s Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch. He took on Epstein as a wealth manager when his own fortune was rocketing up.
The Wall Street Journal found that Epstein made around $200 million from his work for Wexner over a period of around 20 years.
Wexner and Epstein’s success together saw them donate to many political campaigns, as well, including that of Bill Clinton.
In the years following, he continued business dealings which made him a pretty penny. But it all started to disintegrate around 2007, when he reached a deal with federal prosecutors and pleaded guilty to soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution, ultimately serving 13 months in a work-release program.
Wexner cut him off, as did the bank JP Morgan, with which he had been heavily involved for several years.
It comes as yesterday, Ghislaine Maxwell refused to cooperate with the Epstein investigation unless she was granted clemency by Trump.
The disgraced socialite and convicted sex trafficker invoked her Fifth Amendment right in response to every question asked during a deposition before the House Oversight Committee on Monday.
House Oversight Democrat Melanie Stansbury laid into President Trump for being at the centre of a cover-up of the ‘largest sex-trafficking scandal in American History’.
She told reporters: ‘We know that there are more than 3 dozen associates, family members, and individuals directly associated with Donald Trump in those files.
‘The United States government is engaged in an active cover-up of the largest sex-trafficking scandal and influence peddling scandal in the history of the United States, and Donald Trump is right at the centre of it.’
The granting of mercy can be granted to a convicted criminal by a senator or the president, reducing or eliminating their sentence in exceptional circumstances.
