Marin to get break in rain before wet weekend
After a soggy couple of days, the weather in Marin is expected to dry out Thursday and Friday before another round of rain during the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The agency recorded 1.48 inches of rain on Mount Tamalpais from early Tuesday afternoon to late Wednesday afternoon. Other totals for that period included 1.36 inches in Woodacre, 0.99 inches in Kentfield, 0.95 inches in Mill Valley, 0.79 inches in Novato and 0.75 inches in San Rafael.
Nicole Sarment, a meteorologist for the agency, said more rain would fall Wednesday night, followed by a two-day break. Light rain is in the forecast on Saturday and heavier rain on Sunday, she said.
The National Weather Service expects about half an inch for most Bay Area cities each day from Sunday to Tuesday. By next Thursday, 2 to 3 inches could fall across the region, boosting totals that are already near average in most cities.
