However, it has now been revealed by O Jogo that Aghehowa suffered a serious injury during Porto’s recent 1-1 draw with Sporting Lisbon.
The centre-forward was forced off at half-time of the game, and it has now been confirmed that he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
As a result, the striker’s season is now over. He will undergo further tests to decide whether surgery is required, but the expectation is that he will face a lengthy rehabilitation period.
The report suggests that Tottenham and the Porto man’s other suitors may thus be forced to call off their pursuit of the 21-year-old.

With a move for Aghehowa now looking unlikely, the big question is which striker Tottenham would turn to in the summer.
