Juventus lose Holm for at least 4 weeks with new injury
Juventus only just signed Emil Holm from Bologna, but he has already been ruled out for several weeks by a soleus muscle injury.
The full-back came off the bench during last night’s 3-2 Serie A defeat to Inter at San Siro.
At the final whistle, the player felt a twinge in his right calf and underwent radiological tests at the club’s medical centre this morning.
This confirmed a low-to-medium grade myotendinous injury to the soleus muscle.
Holm a fresh injury blow for Juventus
A formal statement notes Holm will have further tests in two weeks to determine the exact recovery time, meaning his absence will be at least a month.
The Sweden international arrived from Bologna in an exchange of loans with option to buy with Joao Mario going to the Stadio Dall’Ara.
The option to buy for Holm is €15m plus a further €3m in performance-related bonuses.
He has so far made only two appearances for the Bianconeri, one in Serie A and the other in the Coppa Italia, both off the bench.
