WATCH: Megyn Kelly drops hilarious video mocking AOC, Gretchen Whitmer
In 2007, South Carolina Teen USA contestant Caitlyn Upton unwittingly created a new phrase in the cultural lexicon: “U.S. Americans.” It was part of a nonsensical answer she gave during a beauty pageant when asked about geography.
Now commentator Megyn Kelly is spotlighting similar answers given recently by more high-profile women – Democrats pontificating at the Munich Security Conference during panel discussions.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., struggled to answer questions, and some of those stumblings were interspersed with the South Carolina teen’s display of multiple non sequiturs.

During the 2007 pageant, Upton was asked the reason some Americans could not locate the U.S. on a world map. Here was her response:
“I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don’t have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq everywhere like, such as, and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., er, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children.”
