Bremont Just Gave the Jumping Hour Watch a Stealth Makeover With the Terra Nova 38

With recent releases from high horology brands like Audemars Piguet, Niton, ChronoSwiss and Czapek, the jumping hour (a.k.a. heures sautante) complication is having a moment and we are psyched to see it. But those are all limited editions or impossible to find fussy dress watches. On the other wrist, British maker Bremont just put a rugged new spin on the genre with their Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour with a Stealth Black version.
In this interpretation of their field watch, both the 38mm cushion case and bracelet are constructed in 904L stainless steel and finished with a full black diamond like carbon coating, which adds corrosion, scratch resistance, and a sporty feel. Hours and minutes are displayed through vertical apertures using crisp, white Arabic numerals. A center Wayfinder logo, with a compass point design, acts as a central sweeping seconds hand over the in full super-luminova (green emission) evokes a traditional compass point.

Beyond the DLC- coated bracelet, the Terra Nova Stealth Black is also offered on a flier-style black leather bund strap, which serves as an homage to WWII era pilots who used the extra leather to protect their wrists from rapid extreme temperature shifts. The bund can be detached and wraps a more traditional, black calf leather strap.
All the jumping is powered by Bremont’s BC634 calibre, developed in partnership with manufacturer Sellita. The high-torque design assures a jump to the next numeral occurs in less than 1/10th of a second. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (vibrations per hour) and offers a 56-hour power reserve.
