Burger chain opens new Marin location
If you’re hankering for a Super Duper burger, fries and shake, and straddling the divide between its Mill Valley and Novato outposts, there’s now a closer solution. The Bay Area-born chain added a Corte Madera location last week, taking over the former Amy’s Drive Thru site and bringing its Marin count to three.
“As a Marin County resident, this opening means a great deal to me,” said Super Duper Burgers co-founder Edmondo Sarti through a spokesperson last week. “The restaurant is right around the corner from my home, which makes welcoming friends and neighbors here especially meaningful.”
Sarti is chief operating officer of Back of the House Inc., a restaurant group operating throughout the Bay Area that Super Duper Burgers is a part of.
The menu is mostly consistent among all locations — burgers made with all-natural beef ground daily, free-range grilled or fried chicken sandwiches, organic veggie burgers, plain or garlic fries and an all-day breakfast sandwich. This month’s seasonal special is the Big Bay Burger with cheddar cheese, grilled jalapeños and onions, pickle relish and barbecue sauce.
An exclusive addition to the Corte Madera menu is the SDB Salad with baby kale, arugula, lettuce, quinoa and an apple vinaigrette slaw.
As is its signature, jars of complimentary house-made dill pickles sit on the condiment counter, and organic Straus Family Creamery soft serve comes as a shake or on a cone, plain or hand-dipped in organic TCHO chocolate.
The building’s structural elements, including the vaulted ceiling with exposed wood trusses and rows of built-in booths, remain, and the brand’s retro-inspired touches, such as wood ingredient boards and hand-painted signage, have been added. Picnic tables line the open patio and the heated covered outdoor dining area.
Super Duper’s original location debuted in 2010 in San Francisco’s Castro District, and 19 more locations have been added since. The business prides itself on working with small organic farmers and independent Bay Area artisans and its commitment to a low carbon footprint and zero landfill waste.
Super Duper Burgers is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 5839 Paradise Drive in Corte Madera. For more information, visit superduperburgers.com.
