Honestly, Madrone nailed it with the Jab, not just in the function but also in the form. Aesthetically, the Jab is seriously impressive, and the color options weren’t necessarily lacking, but these limited edition colors really round out the range.
I've been riding a Madrone Jab for a long time now, and have nothing but praise for the beautifully crafted component, which you can read all about at the end of this article. But aside from the solutions this derailleur offers, the company is inspiring, and Aaron Bland, the Founder of Madrone, is taking a pragmatic approach to make mechanical shifting the best it can be for all 1X drivetrains.
Like the other anodized colors already on offer, the Jab's color options retail for $327 USD. The limited-edition run of Orange, Red, Gold, and Grey is a small upcharge, but I’d say it's well worth it for the bling factor and personalization it offers. While the black and grey colors retail for only $298 USD, even with the upcharge, these are among the most competitively priced aftermarket derailleurs on the market, especially given their compatibility, repairability, and robustness.
