A DHS official is promising top state election administrators that immigration agents will not be at polling places during November's midterm election. Heather Honey, an election conspiracy theorist who is deputy assistant secretary for election integrity for the Trump administration, pledged Wednesday on a call with secretaries of state from around the country to discuss the midterms, according to several officials on the call. Democrats and some election officials have increasingly worried the Trump administration would try to interfere in November's elections, in part by posting immigration agents at the polls. Those fears rose after last month's immigration crackdown in Minneapolis.
