Lily Collins Says Speaking Out About Her Eating Disorder Was a 'Terrifying But Rewarding' Experience
Lily Collins is sharing more details about her struggle with an eating disorder.
The 36-year-old Emily in Paris star took to her Instagram Story on Thursday (February 26) to “acknowledge Eating Disorder Awareness Week,” a campaign sponsored by National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), per People.
Lily wrote that the association is doing “life-saving work.”

She said that as she is someone who has been open about her eating disorder struggle, particularly in her 2017 film To the Bone, “I’ve always advocated for more awareness and understanding surrounding eating disorders so no one has to struggle in silence or shame.”
Lily continued, saying that “recovery looks different for everyone and is an ongoing process,” but credits organizations like NEDA for helping her connect with others and make them “feel less alone.”
She concluded by writing, “speaking out and opening up about my history with eating disorders was and is one of the most terrifying but rewarding experiences of my life. If every time I share my story it helps even one person on their recovery journey, it is beyond worth it.”
Lily was recently cast in a new movie that will feature her as an iconic film star.
