Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve started setting up a workbench area in my house. The first step? Putting up my Wall Control Galvanized Steel Pegboards. I’ve owned these all-metal pegboards for nearly eight years (they’ve stayed with me through multiple moves), and in that time, they’ve proven to be an incredibly durable and versatile tool storage solution.
Price-wise, they're actually a great value. You can get the Wall Control Galvanized Steel Pegboard Pack (model 30-P-3232GV) on Amazon for as low as $42. Each pack comes with two Wall Control panels, giving you a combined 1,024 square inches of wall mounting space. Traditional pegboard doesn’t even come close—if you have a workspace you’re trying to organize, here's why I think this is the best solution.

What to Know Before Buying
- Dimensions: 32 x 16 inches
- Material: Steel
- Hardware: Wall Control hooks and standard ¼-inch pegboard hardware
- Orientation: Vertical
- Best For: Garage, workbench, kitchen pantry
The Wall Control panels are made from a steel sheet—and that’s it. There’s no plastic or particle board. The pack includes beefy mounting screws for all four corners of each panel. I’d recommend mounting them on wall studs (their 16-inch width makes it easy to line them up with standard stud spacing), but you can also use wall anchors, too.
Especially compared to traditional pegboard, these panels are really easy to install. They have flanged mounting points that project the panels off the wall, providing enough space for pegboard hooks to go through the panel without hitting the wall. That means you don’t need to frame them up with lumber backing—a crucial required step for old-school pegboard. With a drill, a pencil, and a bubble level, I mounted my panels in just a few minutes.

My Honest Thoughts
Wall Control sells its own hooks and hardware, and I really like how they've designed them to work with the panels: Each piece slots into vertical grooves and locks into place, so the hooks won’t pull out when you remove a hanging tool or item. But if you don’t want to spend the extra cash on Wall Control hardware, the panels work with regular pegboard hardware, too. (Note: Because the steel sheet is thinner than the pegboard, regular hooks tend to slope down a bit.)
I appreciate the hardy all-metal design of these panels because it has so many benefits. It’s super durable, so the holes and slots won’t wear down over time, and it’s practically impervious to moisture. It also looks sharp and is easy to clean. I used these panels in my kitchen in a previous apartment, and I could easily wipe them down if they got greasy or dusty.
Overall, I think Wall Control is a no-brainer for wall-mounted storage. By the time you buy a sheet of pegboard, cut the lumber to frame it, and install the whole thing, you’ll have invested significant money, time, and effort. With Wall Control, getting wall-mounted storage is simple and easy.
What Shoppers Are Saying

Shoppers said the panels are “incredibly easy to install” and “much more durable than traditional pegboard.” In fact, reviewer after reviewer raved about how the Wall Control system is superior to traditional pegboard. “I will never consider using MDF or standard pegboard sheet products ever again,” one shopper said.
