London 3×3 now under full British ownership
Ownership of London 3×3 has now entirely been handed over to British hands, marking a significant step forward for the country’s presence on the global 3×3 stage.
Last season, London 3×3 claimed victory at the Deqing Masters during their first campaign on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, announcing themselves as immediate contenders at the highest level of the professional 3×3 circuit.
Moving forward, the team are now set to officially compete as London 3×3 GBR following the ownership change, having previously operated under the name London 3×3 USA.
The switch means that the top tier of the professional 3×3 landscape will now have official representation from Great Britain for the first time.
The shift in ownership has also been reflected on court. The predominant nationality of the squad has transitioned from American to British and, under FIBA regulations, the reclassification allows up to six British players to occupy the team’s roster spots.
The move could carry significant implications for Great Britain’s Olympic ambitions. With 60% of the top 20 ranked federations’ points coming from results on the professional circuit, performances on the World Tour play a major role in determining qualification pathways.
Points accumulated by domestically aligned teams now directly contribute towards qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, placing added importance on sustained success at Masters and Challenger events over the coming cycle.
London 3×3 was launched ahead of the 2025 season by Ashley Hamilton alongside his wife and former player Alice Hamilton, following a strategic partnership with Drive 3×3 and Princeton.
With British ownership now firmly in place and a reoriented roster aligned to the national pathway, London 3×3 GBR enters its next chapter carrying both competitive momentum and increased responsibility within the international 3×3 landscape.
