Hengaw: 1,500 Killed in US and Israeli Strikes on Iran
The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has reported that at least 1,500 people have been killed so far in US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
In a report published Monday, Hengaw said the dead include 1,300 military personnel and 200 civilians. The group stated that military and government centers in 150 cities across 22 provinces have been targeted by air and missile strikes.
According to the organization, the sites hit include bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Basij centers, military airports, missile facilities, police stations, judicial institutions, intelligence headquarters, army barracks, and special forces compounds.
Hengaw said the highest number of military casualties was recorded in Tehran, Kermanshah, West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and Kurdistan provinces, while the highest civilian toll was reported in Hormozgan province.
The group claimed that many of the civilian victims in Hormozgan were elementary school girls at the “Shajareh Tayyebeh” school. Iranian authorities, however, stated that 168 people were killed and 95 injured in the attack on the school.
Hengaw also documented civilian deaths, including children, in Tehran, Razavi Khorasan, Qazvin, Alborz, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, West Azerbaijan, and East Azerbaijan provinces, adding that nearby residential and administrative buildings suffered severe damage.
The organization rejected figures released by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, which put the death toll at 555, accusing the government of concealing the true scale of casualties.
The conflict escalated after the United States and Israel launched large-scale military operations against Iran on Saturday, with hostilities continuing across multiple regions of the country.
Reports indicate that several senior Iranian figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and high-ranking military officials, were killed in the initial wave of strikes, marking a dramatic turning point in the confrontation.
