US Urges Citizens to Leave 15 Middle Eastern Countries After Iranian Strikes
The United States Department of State has urged American citizens to immediately leave more than 15 Middle Eastern countries following Iranian attacks across the region.
According to Reuters, the State Department advised US nationals in countries including Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen to use commercial flights to depart as soon as possible.
The warning comes after Iran targeted US military bases in the Middle East in retaliation for joint US and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.
Reports indicate that luxury hotels, shopping malls, high-rise residential complexes, and major airport terminals have been sporadically targeted, as Gulf air defense systems struggle to fully intercept incoming drones and ballistic missiles.
Iran has repeatedly warned that it would retaliate against any country it considers complicit in attacks against it. Although Gulf states have sought to distance themselves from the US-Israeli strikes, their longstanding military partnerships with Washington have heightened their vulnerability.
Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply following coordinated US and Israeli military operations inside Iran, triggering retaliatory drone and missile attacks across the Gulf region.
