It was tough to narrow down which frozen meals from Trader Joe's I like best, but here are nine of my favorites.

I make fresh lunches for my kids every day, but when it comes to myself, I don't always have the time. So, I always keep a few of Trader Joe's frozen meals on hand.

Most heat up in five minutes or less, and are far more budget-friendly than ordering takeout every day. Best of all, the chain has a wide variety of options, from Indian-inspired dishes to French classics, plus plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices.

As a dietitian with over 14 years of experience, I'm pleased some of these are a decent source of protein and fiber, a nutrient most of us don't get enough of on a daily basis.

You'll want to be mindful when fitting these into your diet, though, as frozen meals are typically high in sodium. Some of these have more than half of what the average adult should consume in a day.

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite Trader Joe's frozen lunches.

Cod Provençale with ratatouille and rice feels like a meal you'd order at a French restaurant.

Herb-seasoned cod is paired with brown rice with a medley of stewed summer vegetables, like zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, and bell peppers.

With 23 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber, and just 370 calories, this meal is light but satisfying. And if you're worried about microwaving fish, don't be — the fragrant ratatouille fills the room instead!

This Asian-style spicy noodle bowl with chicken delivers on peanut flavor.

Ground chicken and vegetables, like bok choy, carrots, and green onions, help bring 19 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber to this bowl.

It's got a nice, nutty flavor and I've found the noodles maintain a perfect texture, even after being microwaved — they're not mushy at all.

Channa masala is a staple in my freezer.

Chickpeas star in this Indian-style dish, and are stewed with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, bay leaves, and warm spices like turmeric.

This is a great pick for those who love chicken tikka masala but would prefer a plant-based option.

This frozen meal contains two servings, with each containing 7 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. For a heartier meal, serve this with Trader Joe's frozen rice or naan to help soak up all the flavorful masala.

Trader Joe's chicken shawarma bowl comes alive with the tangy, slightly sweet crunch of pickled red onions.

This meal may work for those following the Mediterranean Diet, which is often ranked as one of the most balanced ways to eat.

It simply features fluffy basmati rice, shawarma seasoned chicken, red bell peppers, and spinach, all topped with a creamy garlic sauce and crunchy pickled red onions.

With 20 grams of protein, the 400-calorie bowl is both flavorful and filling.

The vegan Thai green curry is comfort food with a spicy kick.

Coconut, green chili, and lemongrass create that classic Thai balance of creamy, sweet, and spicy, with tofu and produce like eggplant, carrots, and cabbage served over jasmine rice to soak up the sauce.

This cozy Trader Joe's meal provides 14 grams of plant-based protein with 7 grams of fiber in a 470-calorie serving.

Trader Joe's frozen pad see ew could easily pass for a restaurant dish.

This vegan, Thai-inspired meal combines wide stir-fried rice noodles, vegetables, tofu, and soy sauce. The soft noodles paired with the crunchy Chinese broccoli and carrots make this dish especially hearty and enjoyable.

It contains two 300-calorie servings, with each containing 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber.

The chicken burrito bowl combines animal- and plant-based proteins with whole grains and vegetables.

Seasoned chicken breast, black beans, brown rice, red quinoa, corn, cheddar, and a chipotle sauce come together to create a balanced, flavorful, restaurant-quality lunch.

With 22 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber, it's filling and satisfying enough to help get you through the day.

Trader Joe's riced cauliflower bowl works well as a vegan meal or snack.
