Suspect arrested in Foster City hit-and-run that injured teen
FOSTER CITY — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a 15-year-old electric bicycle rider injured roughly two weeks ago in Foster City, police said.
The collision happened around 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 20 near Shell Boulevard and Bounty Drive, according to the Foster City Police Department. Officers arrived within minutes and found the e-bicyclist. The driver, however, had already left the scene.
Paramedics treated the teen at the scene and took him to an area hospital for additional medical care.
Investigators found a possible suspect vehicle parked at a nearby apartment complex, police said, adding that they also collected physical evidence, reviewed license plate-reader data and obtained search warrants for electronic records.
Police said the suspect was then identified and placed under arrest for hit-and-run causing injury. The case has been submitted to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for review. Any charging decisions will be determined by the agency.
