President Emmanuel Macron says France stands with Cyprus after a drone strike hit a British base on the island. On Monday, Macron visited Cyprus and says an attack on Cyprus is an attack on Europe. He met Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the main air base near Paphos. France has already sent a frigate and air defense systems to the Eastern Mediterranean to boost protection. Greece has also sent fighter jets and frigates. Macron says France is deploying major naval forces nearby. The leaders stress their moves remain defensive. Officials have linked the drone to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
