Two teenagers arrested after baby suffers serious injuries in Grimsby

A teenage boy and a teenage girl have been arrested after a baby suffering ‘unexplained injuries’ was taken to hospital.
Police sealed off a home in Railway Street in Grimsby after the infant arrived at a local hospital on Monday morning.
Officers who are still working to ascertain the cause of the injuries.
A Humberside Police spokesman said: ‘Investigations are underway in Grimsby after we received a report that a baby had been presented at hospital with serious injuries in the early hours of this morning (Monday, 9 March 2026).’
DI Gemma Walker said: ‘An investigation has been launched whilst we carry out multiple lines of enquires to establish the full circumstances surrounding the baby’s injuries, which are currently being treated as unexplained.

‘A scene guard has been put in place at an address in Grimsby as our investigations continue and to allow officers to carry out their enquiries.
‘A teenage boy and girl have both been arrested in connection to the incident, and I would ask that people please refrain from any form of speculation as enquiries remain ongoing.’
