An Oregon Army National Guard helicopter rescued an injured logger from Mount Hood National Forest after rough terrain blocked other options. On Thursday, a falling tree struck and pinned the worker. The Estacada Fire District said the logger had a broken leg and possible other injuries. Other loggers cut away the tree and freed the leg before rescuers arrived. Fire crews hiked around downed trees and on steep slopes to reach the logger. The guard hoisted the logger in a basket, which was raised about 200 feet to the helicopter and taken to a hospital.
