More Than 100 Injured in Israel as Iran Conflict Intensifies
At least 108 people were injured in Israel over the past 24 hours amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to Israel’s Health Ministry. The ministry said the injured were taken to hospitals across the country as missile and drone attacks continued during the latest wave of hostilities.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, some of the injuries may not have been caused directly by missile strikes. Authorities noted that several people were hurt while rushing to shelters during air raid sirens as tensions intensified.
The ministry added that since February 28, a total of 3,195 people have been admitted to hospitals due to the ongoing conflict. Of those, 81 individuals remain hospitalized while others have been treated and discharged.
Meanwhile, regional tensions continued to expand as Saudi Arabia reported intercepting four drones over the Riyadh metropolitan area. Saudi officials said the drones were shot down before reaching their targets.
The confrontation between Israel and Iran has sharply escalated since late February, with missile, drone, and air strikes exchanged across several countries in the region. The fighting has also drawn in other actors, raising fears of a broader regional conflict affecting multiple Middle Eastern states.
In a separate development, video footage showed that Iran’s Space Research Centre in west Tehran suffered significant damage following Israeli-US strikes. The facility is considered one of Iran’s key research centres for satellite technology and intelligence mapping.
Reports warn that the continuing exchanges of missile and drone attacks risk widening the war across the Middle East, particularly as more countries become involved directly or indirectly in the confrontation.
Despite international calls for restraint, the fighting shows little sign of easing, with civilians in several countries facing the growing impact of air strikes, drone attacks and heightened security alerts.
