Historic Harry Styles Announcement Turns Heads

Last week, Harry Styles released his new album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, marking his first album release in nearly four years following his album Harry's House, which won the Album of the Year Award at the Grammys.

While it was certainly a long layoff for the former One Direction star between his two albums, it does not seem like he lost any steam or momentum with his fanbase.

Harry Styles Took Time Away

After winning his Album of the Year Grammy for Harry's House, Styles toured for a couple of years before he ultimately stepped away from performing, staying largely out of the public eye.

It sounds like this hiatus from performing was intentional to allow him to refocus on himself and his career.

"It was just a time for me to look at the way that I'd done everything," Styles said during his interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music. "I think it's a good thing to have moments, where you've done something for a long time, to kind of stop and check in with yourself: Do I do this because this is what I've been doing for a long time, or do I do this because I really love it?"

During his time out of the public eye, Styles took up running and even took part in multiple marathons.

Harry Makes History

After his time away, Styles clearly still had hype and fan support as his new album has been an absolute hit.

On Sunday afternoon, Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally was officially announced as the No. 1 album on the Billboard charts. This is a historic announcement for Styles as it marks the fourth consecutive time that his album has debuted at No. 1 following his self-titled debut album, Fine Line, and Harry's House.

According to Billboard, Styles has now tied with DMX as the only male solo artists to chart at No. 1 with the first four albums of their solo careers. He is also the first solo artist to debut at No. 1 with their first four entries since Alicia Keys.

The album also earned Styles the biggest vinyl week by a male artist in Luminate history with 186,000 copies sold.

Fans Offer Reactions

Needless to say, this is an impressive feat from the former One Direction member, and the historic announcement led to a lot of reactions on social media.

"It's genuinely mad to think that from 'Sign of the Times' to now, every single project has topped the chart. Feels like just yesterday we were waiting for that first album to drop, and now he's 4/4," one fan wrote in a post on X.

"Four for four! The way he keeps making history is actually insane," someone else added.

"Prince of pop for a reason," another fan wrote.

"Harry Styles’ career trajectory needs to be studied," someone else wrote.

"Harry done made us lose our minds up in here," another fan joked in a nod to DMX.
