Belgian pharmaceutical maker UCB says it will build a $2 billion drug manufacturing plant near Atlanta. The company said Tuesday announcement that the plant is a cornerstone of its plan to sell more in the U.S. to meet rising demand. The facility is supposed to employ 330 workers when it's complete in six to seven years. UCB is growing rapidly and says the plant will add to its focus on biologic drugs that treat neurological and autoimmune diseases. Local and state authorities are likely to offer more than $200 million of incentives to the company. UCB's U.S. headquarters is located in Smyrna, another Atlanta suburb.
