Dominic Solanke price tag revealed, but it’s less than Tottenham Hotspur paid for him
Journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed what it would take to convince Tottenham Hotspur to cash in on Dominic Solanke this summer.
Solanke remains Tottenham’s record signing, with the Lilywhites paying £65m to land him from Bournemouth in 2024.
The centre-forward had a decent first season at Spurs, being part of the Europa League-winning side under Ange Postecoglou, but he has spent much of this season out with an injury.
According to reports, several clubs are circling over Tottenham’s best players ahead of the summer window, amidst the Lilywhites’ struggles, and a new update has now revealed if Solanke could be among those sold.
What price will Tottenham demand for Dominic Solanke?
Pete O’Rourke has no doubts that there will be no shortage of interest in the England international this summer.
The journalist expects the North London club to demand £50m for the former Bournemouth if Premier League clubs come knocking.
When asked if Solanke could leave Tottenham this summer, O’Rourke told Football Insider: “It’s a difficult one. They’ve missed him this season due to his injury problems. He’s been a big miss. He’s still a top player and he is part of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad where he’ll be hoping he can impress and book a ticket for the World Cup.
“For Tottenham, he’s under contract until 2030, so they’re under no real massive pressure to sell him under a long-term contract. Spurs paid big money for Solanke when they signed him from Bournemouth, it was around £65million, so they’ll be looking to recoup as much as possible.
“They would still be looking at top money, probably £50 million for a player who is in the England squad and again on his day as a proven Premier League striker.”
Why Spurs are unlikely to let Solanke go this summer
It has been widely reported that this is expected to be Richarlison’s last season at Tottenham, even though the Brazilian remains the club’s top scorer across the campaign.
Additionally, it has also been suggested that Spurs are not likely to sign Randal Kolo Mauni permanently from PSG at the end of his loan spell.
It appears highly doubtful that the Lilywhites would sell all three of their strikers in the same window, with the club more likely to bring in another centre-forward to compete with Solanke.
