JUST IN: White House Fraud Task Force Uncovers 221 Fraudulent Hospice and Healthcare Providers in California as “Operation Never Say Die” Begins – Trump Responds
The Trump Administration’s fraud task force, led by Vice President JD Vance, revealed on Thursday that it has identified and suspended 221 fraudulent hospice and healthcare providers.
According to Fox News, the massive progress comes after just 70 providers were initially suspended last week.
But it’s not stopping there.
“We expect this number to grow much, much higher in the coming weeks,” a senior Administration official said.
“The Administration’s War on Fraud once again yields results as more suspensions take place and fraudsters face justice for ripping off hard-working Americans and stealing their tax dollars and social services,” a spokesperson for Vance said. “The Vice President and his task force are proud of these latest figures and expect to see this number continue to grow dramatically.”
As The Gateway Pundit reported, federal authorities raided several healthcare providers in Southern California on Thursday for defrauding Medicare.
FBI Los Angeles posted footage of agents arresting the fraudsters, writing, “Early this morning, the FBI and partners arrested 8 of 15 defendants charged in connection with 9 separate health care fraud investigations focusing on hospice fraud and other schemes. The arrests were made in and around Los Angeles County, as well as in Court d’Alene, Idaho. Some of the defendants are health care professionals, including nurses, a psychologist and a chiropractor. Losses to taxpayers exceed $50 million.”
The DOJ announced that “Eight defendants, including three nurses, a chiropractor, and a psychologist, have been arrested on federal charges that they schemed to defraud the nation’s health care system out of more than $50 million.” This includes arrests for Medicare hospice care fraud, private health care plan fraud, and immigration health care fraud.

First Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli touted the operation, dubbed "Operation Never Say Die," in an X post on Thursday, writing, "In coordination with the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, federal law enforcement executed several arrests and search warrants in the Los Angeles area this morning targeting hospice and health care fraud. Operation Never Say Die involves 11 defendants who engaged in fraud totaling more than $50 million. Those arrested today will appear in federal court this afternoon."
Vice President Vance responded to the post, adding, "Our task force isn’t wasting any time cracking down on fraud. This morning in the LA area, federal law enforcement is taking down fraudsters who stole $50M+ from Americans by defrauding our healthcare and hospice systems."

Essayli further dubbed California the "Kingdom of Fraud" during a press conference on Thursday, where officials discussed the operation and the arrests made. "You have hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud," he said. "If you look at the EBT fraud, the SNAP benefits fraud, the hospice fraud, the homeless fraud that my office has done, one thing is in common: No vetting, no checking. Money goes out the door with no questions asked, no receipts, no checking up on them."

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz told the California Post on Thursday, "In 10 weeks, we’re getting close to what Governor Newsom did in four years."
President Trump also highlighted the work of Vance's fraud task force in a Truth Social statement on Friday morning, wishing Vance luck as the raids began in Los Angeles. "The numbers are so large that, if successful, we would literally be able to balance our American Budget," he said, crowning Vance the "FRAUD CZAR."
