How many Kazakhstani citizens are in Iran and Israel

Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided updated information on the number of Kazakh nationals currently in Iran and Israel.

“At present, 132 Kazakh citizens are in Iran and 219 in Israel. Our consulates are in constant contact with our nationals,” said ministry spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov.

The ministry confirmed that there have been no casualties or injuries among Kazakhstani citizens.
According to Smadiyarov, approximately 300 Kazakh citizens—mostly tourists—are experiencing difficulties departing due to canceled flights by several airlines.

“Our diplomats are working on the ground. We expect that more than half of these citizens will be able to return home soon thanks to agreements reached with airlines,” he emphasized.

The ministry has urged all Kazakh nationals currently in Iran and Israel to exercise increased caution.

“We ask our citizens in Iran and Israel not to leave their places of residence unless absolutely necessary, to remain vigilant and cautious, follow the news, and adhere to the recommendations of local authorities. We also strongly recommend staying in contact with the Foreign Ministry and Kazakhstan embassies,” said Smadiyarov.

He also noted that assistance has already been provided to several dozen Kazakh citizens wishing to leave Iran.

“On June 14, six Kazakhstani nationals on official business in Iran were helped to return home via Azerbaijan. On June 15, the departure of 68 Kazakhstani citizens from Iran to Turkmenistan was organized. This group included family members of diplomats, staff of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, seconded from Kazakhstan, and other citizens on official assignments. We hope that all of our compatriots will be able to return home in the coming days,” he added.

Kazakh diplomatic missions in Iran continue to operate as normal.
