Barcelona currently have the best chances of signing Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams ahead of Arsenal and others following new negotiations in recent hours, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is their plan B for the number 9 role should they fail in their attempts for any of the aforementioned duo, while more names will emerge as their search for an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard continues.
They conceded the least Premier League goals (34) during the 2024-25 campaign but were outscored by champions Liverpool and Manchester City, and making necessary additions in the position could go a long way as they look to go one better next term.
