Heat up to 46°C: Kazakhstan braces for weather stress

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet meteorologists have shared the weather forecast for June 17, 18, and 19 in Kazakhstan.

A cyclone is coming

A northwestern cyclone moving across most of the country will bring unstable weather: rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected. On June 18–19, heavy rain and possibly hail are forecast in the northwest and north of the country.

Temperature swings

Northwest and North: A slight drop in nighttime temperatures is expected — from 17–25°C down to 15–23°C. Daytime highs will decrease from 25–35°C to 20–31°C.

Central Regions: Nighttime temperatures will drop from 18–25°C to 15–22°C. On June 17–18, there will be intense heat with highs of 35–39°C; in the southern parts of the region, extreme heat of up to 42°C is forecast. By June 19, temperatures are expected to decrease to 27–32°C.

East: Nighttime temperatures will rise from 12–23°C to 17–25°C. Daytime highs will increase from 27–35°C to extreme heat of 35–39°C, and in some areas on June 19, up to 40°C.

Southeast: A slight rise in nighttime temperatures is expected, from 18–23°C to 20–25°C. Daytime temperatures will reach 35–39°C, and on June 18–19, in some areas, up to 42°C.

South: Daytime heat will ease from extreme highs of 43–46°C down to 30–38°C.

Earlier, Kazhydromet meteorologists released the weather forecast for June 2025 in Kazakhstan. Unstable conditions are expected throughout the month — alternating between cool and hot spells, accompanied by rain (sometimes heavy), thunderstorms, hail, and squally winds. On some days, dust storms are also possible.
