Myles Lewis-Skelly signs new Arsenal contract after sensational breakthrough season
Arsenal have secured the future of Myles Lewis-Skelly with a new five-year contract, tying the 18-year-old to his boyhood club until 2030.
The Hale End graduate, who broke into Mikel Arteta’s first team last season, signed the deal after establishing himself as the preferred left-back.
The agreement, confirmed on Thursday morning, follows extensions for Gabriel and ongoing talks with Ethan Nwaneri, signaling Arsenal’s commitment to their youth core.

The versatile defender, previously a central midfielder in Arsenal’s academy, made 39 appearances across all competitions in 2024–25, showcasing his adaptability and defensive prowess.
His new contract reflects his growing importance as Arsenal prepare for the 2025–26 season.
Lewis-Skelly’s breakthrough saw him become a regular after a senior debut against Manchester City last September.
He earned a first start in a 5–1 Carabao Cup win over Bolton Wanderers and became the youngest Arsenal player to start a Champions League match since 2011, impressing in a 3–0 victory over Monaco.
Lewis-Skelly’s standout moment came in February, scoring his first Arsenal goal in a 5–1 thrashing of Manchester City, where he mimicked Erling Haaland’s celebration, prompting a retort from the City striker.
On the international stage, Lewis-Skelly made history as the youngest player to score on his England debut, netting in a 2–0 win over Albania in March. He has three caps, including a 3–1 loss to Senegal.
His Premier League stats are equally impressive: a 93.6 percent pass accuracy (fifth among players with 1000-plus minutes), dribbled past only once in 1370 minutes.
Despite two red cards — one overturned against Wolves — he earned a PFA Young Player of the Season nomination alongside Nwaneri.
In the Champions League, he provided assists in a 7–1 rout of PSV Eindhoven and a 3–0 quarter-final win over Real Madrid.
With Arsenal finishing second in the Premier League, 10 points behind Liverpool, Lewis-Skelly’s new deal strengthens Arteta’s squad for their subsequent trophy pursuit.
