Will August be hot? Forecasters warn of +43°C and severe thunderstorms

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet meteorologists have released their weather forecast for August 2025 in Kazakhstan.
The last month of summer is expected to be moderately hot across most of the country. However, in the south and southwest of the republic, air temperatures will be above normal.
What will the weather be like in the first ten days of August?
In the western and southwestern regions of the country, early August will bring a slight decrease in temperatures:

At night: from +23…+28°C to +15…+20°C;
During the day: from +35…+42°C to +27…+33°C.

In the northern, central, and eastern regions, on the contrary, a gradual warming is forecast:

At night: from +6…+11°C to +15…+20°C;
During the day: from +14…+21°C to +25…+33°C.

In the south of Kazakhstan, it will also become hotter:

At night: from +11…+17°C to +18…+25°C;
During the day: from +23…+32°C to +35…+42°C.

“Temperature swings” in the second and third ten-day periodsDuring the second and third decades of August, the weather will be unstable. Hot and dry days will alternate with cool and rainy ones. Thunderstorms and hail are possible at times.
In the west of the country, conditions will be mostly cool:

At night: +11…+17°C;
During the day: +21…+27°C.

However, some days will see an intensification of heat:

At night: up to +18…+26°C;
During the day: up to +28…+35°C.

In the Mangystau region, temperatures may reach up to +40°C.
In the north and east of the country, temperatures will fluctuate:

At night: from +4…+10°C to +12…+18°C;
During the day: from +16…+23°C to +24…+32°C.

In the central and southeastern regions, temperatures will also vary:

At night: from +6…+13°C to +15…+20°C;
During the day: from +19…+28°C to +28…+36°C.

In the south of the republic, conditions will be moderately hot:

At night: +11…+17°C;
During the day: +25…+32°C.

On particularly hot days, thermometers may rise to:

At night: up to +17…+23°C;
During the day: up to +33…+42°C.

Precipitation and weather phenomena
According to Kazhydromet, precipitation levels in August are expected to be within the norm across most of the country. In the north and east, rainfall will exceed the norm, while in certain western areas, it will be below average.
