Sharp drop in temperatures expected in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet meteorologists have released the weather forecast for August 19, 20, and 21.

Heavy rain in western and northern Kazakhstan

In the coming days, the weather in Kazakhstan will continue to be shaped by a northwestern cyclone moving eastward from the western regions. It will bring partly cloudy skies, thunderstorms, showers, and, in the daytime, possible hail and squally winds.

Heavy rains are expected on August 19 in the west and east, on August 20–21 in the northwest, and on August 21 in the northern regions.

At the same time, predominantly dry and clear weather will persist in the south under the influence of an anticyclone. Across the country, stronger winds are forecast, with fog likely during the night and early morning hours.

Temperature outlook

In the north, temperatures will drop significantly — at night down to 10…17 °C, during the day reaching only 17…25 °C. In the east, nighttime temperatures will fall to 5…15 °C, while daytime readings will slightly rise to 22…29 °C. In other regions, no major changes in air temperature are expected.

Kazakhstan weather forecast for August

Earlier, Kazhydromet released its forecast for August 2025. Most of the country is expected to experience moderately hot weather, while temperatures in the south and southwest are projected to exceed seasonal norms.
