Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie is dealing with a groin injury, according to Hand of Arsenal.

Hand of Arsenal is a Gunners account and insider famous for breaking some major transfer news about the North London club and is followed by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, Charles Watts, Miguel Delaney, Fabrizio Romano and Sami Mokbel on X.

They have proven to be a trusted source concerning all things Arsenal, and they have claimed this afternoon that the Ecuadorian is targeting an October return if all goes to plan.

Hincapie came off the bench in the 91st minute against Athletic Club last month to make his debut for Arsenal and has not featured since then.

He was not involved in training yesterday and will now hope to return after the international break later this month.

The Gunners take on Olympiacos in their second Champions League game tonight before hosting West Ham United on Saturday before the break.

They return to Premier League action on October 18 with a trip to Fulham before a Champions League game against Atletico Madrid three days later.

Hincapie will hope to be available by then, and the rest during the international break should help him to recuperate quickly.

Arsenal are also without Noni Madueke, while Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have yet to return from their long-term injury layoffs.

Fortunately for Gunners manager Mikel Arteta, there is enough squad depth available following a cash-splashing summer transfer window, and he has had nothing to worry about.

He has overseen a solid start to 2025-26 for his side despite their fitness shortcomings, with only two points separating them from Premier League leaders Liverpool after six games.

The story would have been different some seasons ago after injuries to two or three key players, but things have changed and Arsenal fancy their chances of winning the Premier League title this term.
